The Internal Revenue Service Is Now One Hundred Years Old

I won’t say “Happy Birthday” or “Happy Centennial,” because the IRS may be the most hated organization of all time.  Maybe even more hated than the Nazis or the Ku Klux Klan.  On October 3, 1913, President Woodrow Wilson signed the Sixteenth Amendment into law, legalizing income taxes, and on the very next day the IRS started collecting them.
