Go for it, Sarah. The GOP hasn’t represented my views since the 2004 election, at least, so I registered as an independent after moving to Kentucky. As a member of a family that considers stupidity a crime, I cannot remain associated with a political organization that has been called “the stupid party” or “the brain-dead party.” I have also heard the Republicans called “the Seinfeld party,” because like that TV show, they aren’t about anything in particular.
Recently I saw this quote from somebody named Eric Hoffer: “Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket.” Well, in my lifetime both major parties have gone from the business stage to the racket stage. The Democrats and Republicans don’t need to be reformed; they need to be kicked over.
