This message is a partial rerun, of what I posted at this time last year. Earlier this week I mentioned the 500th anniversary of Florida’s discovery. Now here is another anniversary — not for an event in the past, but for an event in the future. According to Star Trek’s future history, exactly fifty years from today (April 5, 2063), humans and Vulcans will first meet, when a Vulcan ship lands at Bozeman, Montana to meet Zefram Cochrane, the first man to travel faster than light.
