Last night marked the beginning of Hanukkah (hence the above menorah), but currently the family is paying attention to sad news from another part of the world. At 1:30 PM local time in the Philippines, Leive’s mother passed away peacefully in her sleep. As far as I know, it had nothing to do with Typhoon Bopha, which has hit the country twice in the past six days. Rest in peace, Mama; you’ve earned it.
Over the past few months, Leive has learned how to use a graphic program on Facebook called Pizap, so here is her tribute to Mama:
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT TO ALL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS: MY MOTHER JUST PASSED AWAY FEW HOURS AGO. AT THE AGE OF 84 AND 8 MONTHS. SHE WILL BE REMEMBERED AS THE PRAYER WARRIOR WOMAN, COURAGEOUS, STRONG, FULL OF FAITH, GOOD EXAMPLE AS A WOMAN IN PROVERBS 31:30. SHE LOVES THE LORD GOD AND THE BEST MOTHER OF TEN KIDS, GRANDMA OF I THINK 38 GRAND KIDS AND A GREAT GRANDMA OF I THINK 14 GREAT GRAND KIDS. WE LOVE YOU MAMA! ♥ ♥ ♥
