Boy, May in Kentucky sure isn’t like May in Florida! But then, I could say that for almost any month, except July and August. A cold front came in this morning, behind the latest rain, so the temperature dropped to the upper 40s.
No news from Leive yet. She said she would try to call from Vancouver, but the phone never rang on this end, so I guess she was either too busy, or her cell phone doesn’t work from Canada. I just sent an e-mail to the folks in the Philippines, asking them to let me know when Leive gets to Oroquieta City.
We’re still having trouble with the computer network at work, so today I did what I should have done on Wednesday — I went home early, using 4 hours of vacation time. That’s why I’m here now to write this. My co-workers are blaming the problem on all the rain we’ve been getting; maybe when I’m an old-timer I’ll know for sure. I plan to use the extra time to keep up with the e-mail and housework, mail out my second set of corrections for the history book I’ve been working on, and make some more efforts to get along with this cranky parrot.
Tonight and tomorrow, my church is having a special seminar with Tony Fitzgerald, an evangelist from Australia. He came here a year and a half ago, but that was the weekend when I had to work on Saturday, so I missed out on him altogether. Well, now with the equipment at work malfunctioning, I’m in the opposite situation; with it pointless to go to work, I won’t miss out on Mr. Fitzgerald this time. I’ll see you again when I have something to report.
